People like to ask where the name "Pineapple Kitchen" came from? Pineapple Kitchen was born out of a desire to show hospitality to family and friends, especially when it comes to food! The pineapple is the universal sign of hospitality, so it was natural to pair it with our love of good food.

In our Culinary Theater, we offer Kitchen Kids Culinary Education programs which teach children ages 7-13 about principles of food safety in the kitchen, best practices for food preparation, basic kitchen tools and measurements, and offer hands on experience of how to create a recipe. In addition, you can find on our website a list of fun culinary experiences for adults which include unique Dining & Mixology Events, Charcuterie Classes, and our popular Interactive Murder Mystery Shows.
New for Fall 2022, we will offer Family Mystery Shows twice a month. This unique interactive family show will be fun for kids of all ages.
Pineapple Kitchen was founded and created by husband-and-wife team Mike & Jenny Schenk, local Lakewood Ranch residents.

Pineapple Kitchen Kids Challenge/Basic Cooking Class (Ages 7-14 years) 1st of 3 Payments, $210.00 Holds Spot. Total Class Fee $630. Sibling discount $25.00 off second child (please contact us). Class runs for 11 weeks beginning September 7th or September 8th. Monthly Class Fee will be billed at the beginning of each month. The Class meets once a week for 2 hours. Class days and times offered are your choice of either Wednesdays or Thursdays 1:30 - 3:30PM or 5:30 - 7:30PM. Students must wear closed toe shoes and hair back.

We have created a way to build confidence and enthusiasm for cooking! Students will be broken into teams and challenged to cook a recipe with determined key ingredients. Students will learn basic kitchen skills of knife cutting, measurements, heating and baking times, food handling, kitchen safety and hygiene. Parents will be assigned as guest judges weekly to sample the prepared dishes and vote in different categories for the weekly winner. Students will dine on their prepared meal. Each young chef will receive a personalized chefs coat and recipe notebook. Final celebration party will include all parents.
