The Circus Arts Conservatory presents a new lineup for Circus Sarasota, the organization’s spring professional show. The 2025 acts include multiple award-winning artists who will thrill, delight, entertain, and amaze audiences.
The lineup for 2025 includes:
Joseph Bauer, Jr. (Ringmaster): World-renowned ringmaster Bauer, a Sarasota native, represents the 15th generation of one of Switzerland’s oldest circus families. A star of Bauer’s Circus Maximus, he began performing at a young age, thrilling audiences with acts such as the motorcycle on the incline wire, skywalks on the highwire, the death-defying 90-foot swaypole, and the 50-foot whirling Wheel of Destiny. His circus career has taken him all around the world as well as to numerous illustrious circus venues, TV appearances, and competitions.
Eve Diamond (Cloud Swing): An aerialist for over 25 years, Diamond’s love for circus started at Circus Smirkus camp when she was age 12. She studied under top circus coaches Elena Panova and Master Lui Yi, then continued her technical training in Montreal, Quebec Canada under world-renowned coach Victor Fomin. Diamond has performed throughout the USA, Canada, Switzerland and Germany with Cirque du Soleil, Krystallpalast Variete Theatre, Circus Monti, the Acrobatic Conundrum, the Montreal Completement Cirque, Cirque Productions and more.
Johnny Peers Muttville Comix (Dog Act): A Ringling Brothers Clown College graduate, Johnny Peers has worked with dogs since he got his first puppy, a Beagle mix named Freckles, from the Humane Society. Starring mostly dogs rescued from shelters or pounds, the Muttville Comix have appeared on David Letterman, Primetime Live, Circus of the Stars, Disneyland, Busch Gardens, The Big Apple Circus, the Royal Hanneford Circus, and the White House.
Pellegrini Brothers (Hand Balancing): The Pellegrinis left Italy for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus and soon were invited to perform at the NBA playoffs. In 1993, they won the Loews Prize at the Festival of Monte Carlo, then performed for four years at the prestigious Lido de Paris. The Pellegrinis have since performed on television and in person throughout Germany, in Warsaw, in the United States, in Moscow, at the Olympic Games in Turin, and again at the Festival of Monte Carlo, where they won the prestigious Golden Clown Award.
Noel Aguilar (Juggler): Born into a family of performers, Aguilar learned juggling from his father, a skilled juggler, at a young age. He developed a passion for juggling and honed his skills to become an award-winning performer. Noel has won multiple awards for his juggling act, including the prestigious Clown Award for the New Generation, presented by the royal family of Monte Carlo. Audiences around the world have enjoyed his fun, energetic, and charismatic performances in various shows, theaters, and circuses.
Davide Vassallo (Bounding Rope): A third-generation clown, Vassallo learned to walk on a rope, to play musical instruments, and to do somersaults from his father. At fifteen, he performed in England with the Billy Smart Circus, then in the fascinating old-style circus Il Florilegio. He has recently worked at Cirkus Arnardo in Norway, as well as on circuses and television shows in Belgium, Germany and Italy.
Brando Anastasini (Tightwire): Anastasini, a ninth-generation performer, started performing young with the acclaimed Anastasini dog act at the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus, as well as the Big Apple Circus. Presented the Generation Next Award at the Circus Ring of Fame in 2024, Anastini, who also performs on the flying trapeze, executes daring flips and somersaults on a precarious half-inch cable, suspended twelve feet above the ground.
Yonas and Teddy Icarian (Icarian Games): The Icarians are dynamic circus artists known for their impressive and innovative performances in the world of circus arts. Their act, unique to the circus arts, combines physical skill, artistic expression, and acrobatic precision, creating a unique and captivating spectacle. Drawing inspiration from Icarus, the mythological figure who dared to fly, their performances often feature daring stunts, intricate choreography, and a seamless fusion of circus disciplines.
The Flying Caballeros (Flying Trapeze): In January 2025, The Flying Caballeros received the highest recognition in circus, the Golden Clown Award, at the International Circus Festival in Monte Carlo. This fifth-generation family flying trapeze team from Mexico features three artists who have achieved the incredible quadruple somersault. In September 2024, their technical evolution and perfection in timing and movement earned them recognition from the Gallery of Legends Hall of Fame of the World Acrobatics Society.
