Educational Harbor Christian School has been active since January of 2016 and we are working on starting out our tenth school year out right! Our microschool is K-12, although we only enroll students K-9 into the program. We are best suited for motivated students with mild learning disabilities such as ADHD or dyslexia, neurotypical students, and gifted students due to our small class sizes and multi-age classes. We allow students to work at their own pace with opportunities for graduating early with our 3.5 year high school program. Many of our students earn the remaining credits outside of Ed Harbor, or in their 8th grade year, to finish in 3 years. This is a great program for students who want to take advantage of dual enrollment or who were held back and are motivated to graduate "on time" with their peers.
Our class schedule is Monday through Thursday from 9:00AM to 2:45PM with options for tutoring or some special enrichments until 3:30. On Fridays, we have a special program from 9AM to 12:30PM where students can work on projects, practice their math on IXL, and learn leadership skills in special classes and club activities. For the first time in Ed Harbor history, our 4th/5th and 7th/8th grade students will be participating in Junior Achievement and Biztown and our high school juniors will be taking the PSAT to be eligible to apply for the National Merit Scholarship Program. Also, if your student is interested in other career options, like trade, we are fully committed to encouraging them to pursue those paths, and assigning or even creating high school courses suited to their individualized passions. We encourage our students to take advantage of the amazing programs our state has to offer such as Dual Enrollment, and teach them how to avoid student loans with our special personal finance and relationships course.
What is our atmosphere like? At Educational Harbor, we are committed to making our school as safe as possible. This includes locking up all student cell phones during school hours and on-campus events, extensive education on social media and technology, training in "soft skills," character building activities and Biblical teachings, a mentor program, motivational speakers, and a strict no-bullying policy.
Accredited since 2021 with the FCCPSA, Educational Harbor is committed to exceptional student education. We utilize teachers from various backgrounds to give our students a complete experience. Our project-based learning, combined with traditional Christian values and Biblical teaching, allow our students to fulfill their fullest potential!
