Donna Slawsky
Session 5: Jun 28-Jul 2
Mosaics is limited only by your imagination. You'll learn how to compose a piece, select colors and materials, and assemble a work of art using skills you’ll learn as you work. Mosaics is a reverse jigsaw puzzle. You draw or envision the final artwork and create the pieces by cutting glass, pottery, or found objects, and fixing to a surface with the appropriate glues. Finally, the piece is grouted to ensure its beauty and permanency. Basics will be taught during the first session as we begin to think about whether your piece will be abstract or a depiction of something in the real world. Sample drawings will be available, as will examples of mosaic artwork to serve as inspiration.
