KidsArt Summer Camps
Summer is always fun and lively at ArtCenter Manatee!
* Our Sprouting Artists, ages 4 to 6, have an opportunity to express their creativity with a variety of activities, including painting and collage.
* In Marvelous Mondays, children ages 6-10 will create with clay in morning classes.
* Ages 6-10 can attend one-week KidsArt Camps from 9-3, Monday through Friday and explore the treasures of the sea and a lot more with paintings, paper mache, clay, collages and more!
* Emerging Artists, ages 11-15, are challenged in weekly morning camps where they can learn, mosaics, fused glass, video storytelling, jewelry, clay painted furniture, silk painting and more.

Nurture the young artist within! Students will be encouraged to explore the wonderful world of art by experimenting in numerous different mediums such as painting, printing and sculpting. They will be having fun so please dress your “sprout” for play!

It’s All About The Clay EA3
Session 3: Jun 15-Jun 19
Come play in the mud with us! Learn as a beginner or hone skills on the potter’s wheel through demonstration and hands on instruction. Also this week you will learn how to create with various tools (slab roller/extruder, e.g.) through hand building which has no limits on creativity!
Fusing, Enameling, Glass Bead MakingEA4

In this exciting class you’ll learn how to fuse glass, make glass beads and try your hand at enameling. A fun week of creativity and treasures you will create!
Fun With Photography EA5
Session 5: Jun 29-Jul 3
Photography should be FUN! We’ll go outdoors to stretch our imagination and get creative with all that’s around us. We’ll learn about perspective, composition, diffusing light & more. We’ll enjoy a tour of Riverwalk and all that it has to offer photographically. Let’s play with colors, shadows, blur and see who can come up with the most creative shot for a wonderful prize! If you have taken this class before, let’s get you to a greater level in your photography. Each student will have one of their photos printed and proudly displayed in our exhibit.
Get Creative With Painted FurnitureEA6
Session 6: Jul 6-Jul 10
Each student will learn surface painting techniques, how to embellish, distress or bring a chair back to life. They will create a chair that they will treasure for years to come and learn skills you will use over and over again. If you have a favorite wooden chair you would like to work on please bring or use one provided.
Drawing EA7
Session 7: Jul 13-Jul 17
The foundation of all art is drawing. If you have never drawn before or have a little experience, this class is for you. One of the main focuses will be on training the eye how to see. We’ll learn perspective, balance, form and contrast as it all relates to composition. We will learn how to take a drawing from sketch to finished art work with just a pencil.
Modern Mosaics EA8
Session 8: Jul 20-Jul 24
In this fun class you get to smash stuff up & put it back together in amazingly colorful ways. We will explore different ways mosaics are made & how to have fun with bits of broken tile, glass & cement. You will end up with treasures that will last for years. Time allowing, we will work on a class project that will be displayed at the ArtCenter .
Papier Mâché To The Next Level EA9
Session 9: Jul 27-Jul 31
Papier Mâché, French for “chewed paper,” is an inexpensive, fun way to create a variety of sculptures. From bowls to balloons from creatures to art, you can make it with Papier Mâché. We’ll start with a form, add glue and paper, then color to create a piece of paper art.

Session 10: Aug 3-Aug 7
Painting on canvas can be fun! Learn composition, color mixing, perspective and blending just like the pros. We’ll explore different styles from landscapes to still lifes - your choice. Your creativity will be your guide.
In addition to our painting studios, we have complete pottery and jewelry studios. Scholarships are available for kids in need - a form is on our website.
Safety is important to us and students need to be signed in and out of camps. We will have outside drive in-out drop-off and pick-up. Staff and instructors will wear masks and we ask that all students do as well. We will take temperatures in the morning. All class sizes will be limited so we can comply with social distancing guidelines
