Remake Learning is about ...
… thinking boldly about education
… learning by doing
… connecting to the arts
… and making learning personal
At ArtCenter Manatee it’s about providing fun, creative activities for all ages to keeps kids engaged and get them thinking about art and the world around them. They’ll see how art helps to make them think outside the box and come up with creative solutions to problems. It’s about doing – learning hands on, working with others, and sharing.
Remake Learning is a 10-day festival that runs from April 21 to April 30. ArtCenter Manatee events will be held on April 21 from 5PM to 7PM and April 29, from 10AM to 3PM.
The first, Art for All Ages, will be a 2-hour exploration of drawing, painting, and creating in 3-dimensions. Three activities will get kids of all ages, including families, thinking about art, engaging with each other and creating a drawing, a painting and a 3-dimensional item. Between projects, they’ll view our galleries to find similar works. How many drawings/paintings/3D pieces do you see? How were they made? What do you think about and how do you feel when you view them? What role does color and line play in them?
The second, Art & Animals & YOU! on April 29, from 10:00 to 3:00, will bring families, kids and leashed pets to the ArtCenter to connect with animals and their caretakers. Learn about animal habitat, behavior, care and feeding. Enjoy a scavenger hunt, make animal-themed art, and a pet portrait. The galleries of the Art Center will feature paintings, drawings, pictures and sculptures on the theme of Animals & More! There will be lots to explore and learn from.
Join us for both free events while you learn, create and have fun!
