Cat Depot's Critter Camp is the fun summer program for kids ages 8-14 who love cats! Every day, campers will learn something new about cats or complete a cat-themed science activity. Kids will also enjoy daily crafts, service projects, animal-themed yoga/exercises, lunch, a snack, cat videos, and cat trivia. Once a week, there will be a guest speaker from other local animal organizations. And campers will get to meet some of the adoptable kitties for 1 hour each week.
Camps Available:
Week 1: Monday, June 5 – Friday, June 9 - Learn about the life cycle of a cat, how to choose the right cat to adopt, the states of matter, and cat enrichment.
Week 2: Monday, June 12 – Friday, June 16 - Learn how to introduce a new pet to your current pets, how to properly take care of your cat, the history of animal shelters, inherited and learned behaviors, and how plants and animals change with the seasons.
Week 3: Monday, June 26 – Friday, June 30 - Learn about community cats, cat breeds and their origins, careers in animal care, food chains, and how to use scientific investigation tools.
Week 4: Monday, July 17 – Friday, July 21 - Learn about the history of the domesticated cat, famous cats throughout history, why cats do the strange things they do, physical properties of matter, and animal classification.
Week 5: Monday, July 31 – Friday, August 4 - Learn about the differences between cats vs. dogs as pets, differences and similarities between domesticated cats and big cats, anomalies in cats, adaptations and habitats of various plants and animals, and how to classify objects.
Camps are 9AM to 1PM with additional care offered for 30 minutes before and after camp at an additional cost. Camp costs $175 | Families with more than 1 camper will receive 15% off the second child.
