If you are looking for a new spot to check out during your holiday shopping for lunch or dinner, I have the perfect spot for you!  I'm so excited to share a "new-to-me" restaurant in the area - Newk's Eatery.  This restaurant offers a variety of food that all ages will love, including pizzas, sandwiches, soups, salads and their famous mac & cheese.  For my family, on a typical night out to eat, the kids will want one thing to eat and the adults will want something else.  Now, thanks to Newk's, I think I have done the near impossible and actually found a place that will cater to all of our tastes, all in one spot!  I definitely see Newk's becoming one of our regular go-to restaurants!

We were treated to a variety of dishes during our visit to Newk's Eatery.  Here are our favorites:

If you or your kids are a fan of macaroni and cheese, then you must try Newk's spin on it!  We tried their Five Cheese and Six Cheese Pimiento with Bacon dishes.  The five cheeses are Asiago, Vermont white cheddar, imported Parmesan, Ammerländer Swiss cheese and Yellow Cheddar and with the Six Cheese Pimiento Cheese is added ~ it's all baked to a golden brown and topped with crumbled bacon.  As my husband says, you can never go wrong with bacon.  And that was definitely the case here - it was delicious!  They are also currently offering a seasonal Chili Mac & Cheese dish (it's the 5 Cheese Mac & Cheese and Newcomb Family Recipe Beef Chili topped with Cheddar Cheese, Cilantro and Roasted Jalapeños), so be sure to get it before it is gone!

The night we visited Newk's Eatery it was a little bit on the chilly side, and what is better to eat on a cooler night than a nice big bowl of soup? Newk's offers a variety of soups including Lobster & Crab Bisque, the Newcomb Family Recipe Beef Chili and Chicken Tortilla, just to name a few. We ordered the Loaded Potato soup - creamy potatoes, chives, bacon and sour cream - it was heavenly and hit the spot on a cooler night!

If you are looking for something on the lighter side, Newk's Eatery offers 13 different salads and 11 signature salad dressings.  We opted for the Newk's Favorite salad, comprised of all-natural chicken, mixed greens, Gorgonzola, grapes, pecans, artichoke hearts, dried cranberries, house-made croutons, all tossed with a sherry vinaigrette. 

I love a good sandwich and Newk's does not disappoint with their variety of fresh homemade sandwiches, including options with turkey, shrimp, ham, roast beef, cheese and steak.  I know I will be back to try all of them!  The first sandwich that we tried was the Chicken Salad - made from scratch with chicken breast, grapes, pecans, red onion, romaine, provolone, mayo and Creole mustard, all on 11-grain bread.

And you can't go to Newk's without ordering the Newk's "Q" sandwich (which has officially become my favorite restaurant sandwich, by the way!)  This is their specialty sandwich and features all-natural chicken, bacon, Ammerländer Swiss and their signature white BBQ sauce.  All sandwiches also come with your choice of coleslaw, Tippa County caviar, pasta salad, fresh fruit or chips.  Or get the best of both worlds and substitute a cup of soup or half Caesar or Garden salad, or their delicious Five Cheese Mac & Cheese or Pimiento with Bacon Mac & Cheese.  

And finally, let's talk PIZZA.  My family loves pizza and we are pretty picky about what pizza we will eat.  The kids also tend to be pretty boring when it comes to ordering - we always get a large cheese pizza or, if they are feeling daring, sometimes a half cheese / half pepperoni.  We decided to go outside our comfort box and order crazy -  the Sausage and Pepperoni and the Spicy Chicken pizza.  Suffice it to say, we won't just be ordering plain cheese anymore!  

As I said before, Newk's has something for everyone!  Watching what you eat?  They offer a variety of dishes to help you fuel your healthy lifestyle ~ check out their Paleo-Friendly, Gluten-Friendly, Keto-Friendly and Vegetarian-Friendly, as well as low calorie, dishes. Have a little one?  There is a kids menu - they can enjoy the same delicious meals too, just on a smaller scale.  

Newk's Eatery is located at 5405 University Parkway, Suite 110 in Bradenton.  They are currently open from 11AM to 8:30PM every day. Newk's was an amazing experience from the delicious food to the great service.  And the best thing of all were all of the leftovers that we got to take home!
