One of the biggest questions I get when I tell people I am on Jenny Craig is about the food.  Is it good? Does it fill you up?  The short answer to both questions is a resounding YES!!  I invite you to join me on a typical day with Jenny Craig.

Every week I have a meeting with my personal Jenny Craig consultant.  At our meeting, we talk about the previous week and any problems I had, as well as go over the next week's menu.  Now when I said the food was good I meant it, but of course I am not going to love EVERY meal!  That would be impossible!  So if there is something coming up in the menu that I don't think I would like (for example, I don't really like meals with a lot of peppers), I can just substitute it out.  Each meal has at least 3 substitutes for it and I am always able to find at least one that I like.  And my personal consultant, Pam, is so awesome!  I really love having someone I can talk to who has been through the program and understands what I am going through.

Okay, so what is on the menu for today?

8AM - Time for breakfast!!  One thing I learned with Jenny Craig is never to skip breakfast!  In fact, you should eat more earlier in the day and less later in the day. This is a big thing for me because in the past I have not been a breakfast eater.  I think it is because I just don't have the time in the morning. Now, thanks to Jenny Craig, I can eat a delicious breakfast that takes me just mere minutes to prepare. Below is one of my most favorite breakfast dishes - and it took less than 2 minutes to warm up in the microwave!  The Cheesy Egg & Bacon Skillet - "We start with diced potatoes, then top them with fluffy scrambled egg whites, a cheddar cheese sauce and a crumble of bacon bits for a breakfast that will keep you going all morning!"  It seriously is as good as it sounds!

10AM - Time for a snack!  My menu alternates daily between having a Jenny Craig Shake or a protein (like tuna, cottage cheese, string cheese or beans). Today is shake day which is awesome because the chocolate one is So. Darn. Good!  And it's also really easy to have when you are on the go!

12PM - Lunch time!  Before starting on this program I didn't tend to eat very much for lunch.  I am a snacker so my "lunch" might have been a handful of pretzels and a Coke. On Jenny Craig, lunches are so much better for you! Today, thanks to the variety of food available on the menu, I am trying something new - the Stuffed Green Bell Pepper.  I pair it with 2 cups of garden salad with Jenny Craig Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing and lunch is served!

3PM - Snack time!  Home from work and I am hungry.  Time for a snack - on the Reduced Carbohydrate Plan snacks are 1 vegetable and 1 protein. So I might do something like some baby carrots and string cheese to hold me over until dinner.

5:30PM - Dinner Time!  Today's meal is the Classic Salisbury Steak & Vegetables - delicious! It comes with the mashed potatoes and vegetable medley and I also get an extra vegetable and 1 healthy fat so I added the Cheesy Broccoli.  Before Jenny Craig, I might not have been filled up with this meal but after being on the plan for a few weeks I think you adjust to the portions and this meal filled me up!

7:30PM - Snack Time!  It's time for our last food of the day.  Nightly snacks range from Kettle Corn and Blue Corn Tortilla Chips (thank goodness I don't have to give up chips!) as well as snacks to satisfy your sweet tooth like the Nutty Chocolatey Caramel Bar and the Cocoa & Nut Bar.

And that's it!  I'm done eating for the day.  Jenny Craig believes in nourishment for a 12 hour period and then going through a "rejuvenation period" of 12 hours during which time your body can rest and your cells can rejuvenate which helps to boost the immune system and manage appetite and hunger.

So there you have it!  A day in the life of my experience with Jenny Craig!  As you can see, I definitely do not go hungry and the food I eat is delicious!  And it WORKS - I have already lost 8.4 pounds! ( * Avg. weight lost in study was 11.6 lbs./4 wks. for those who completed the program. I received promotional consideration).
