Rowlett Academy has been proudly serving the families of Manatee County (and beyond) as a free-public charter school since 2014 and before that as a public elementary school. In 2017, Rowlett Middle Academy opened its doors two years ago, just minutes down the road. Both campus locations are dedicated to helping young people become creative leaders, who excel in both the arts and academics.

K-5 Students at Rowlett Academy receive multiple sessions of Spanish-language instruction each week. Students who progress to Rowlett Middle Academy have the opportunity to continue their foreign language studies, earning up to 2 high school credits as well as 3 other high school credits in Algebra 1 Honors, Geometry 1 Honors, and English 1 Honors! Rowlett Academy students also rotate through specials courses including the traditional PE and Art, but also more specialized courses such as Chorus/Beginning Band, Dance, Drama, Technology, and Strings. 4th and 5th graders can further specialize in one of the courses above or choose from expanded offerings such as Film, Claymation, and Communication that they attend 3 days a week, allowing them to truly master their craft. At our middle school the arts programs provide continued specialization in all of the above-mentioned arts studies.

Rowlett Academy also offers a special “Discovery” class for gifted and advanced learners, where students in grades 1-5 explore technology and develop critical thinking skills. Rowlett Middle Academy offers an Advance track of course options. The staff members of Rowlett Academies are committed to differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all students, utilizing best-practices and the Florida Standards to guide instruction. Further, research confirms and we believe that students learn best when the arts are integrated into academics.

The Rowlett Academies are committed to developing young people as leaders. Both campus locations have a designated block of the day devoted to studying the habits of highly-effective young people. Our students are encouraged to take on leadership roles around campus, but also in the community. Whether it be partnering with a local Kiwanis group, marching in local parades, or simply demonstrating kindness, Rowlett students can always be spotted making a positive impact on their world.

Additionally, thanks to our dedicated Rowlett Family Association, we are proud to be able to offer free enrichment classes after school, allowing students to explore topics such as word studies, coding, tap dancing, TSA, even LEGO building! We also offer a highly-competitive Odyssey of the Mind program, with several of our 2017 teams placing at the World competition.

We invite you to DISCOVER all that Rowlett Academies have to offer. Both locations begin accepting choice applications on January 15, 2019. Rowlett Academies are consistently two of the most chosen elementary and middle schools in Manatee County. In order to apply, you must attend a tour or open house event ~ we want you to experience all of the amazing aspects of our school.
