BRADENTON MACARONI KID'S TIPS TO SURVIVE SCREAM-A-GEDDON

October 15, 2015

If you like the “spooky” side of Halloween, look no further than the newest Halloween attraction, Scream-A-Geddon.  An easy one hour drive from Bradenton, Scream-A-Geddon is located in what seems to be the middle of nowhere in Dade City.  The park is made up of five haunting attractions with the Monster Midway in the middle.  The midway offers food and drinks and has a carnival feel to it with midway games, tarot card readings, zombie paintball and scary caricature drawings.  There are also picnic benches and campfires with s’more packages available for sale.

You may not want to get too comfortable though because you never know who you may run into!!

Whether your fears are zombies, clowns or the unknown, there is something here for everyone.  Scream-A-Geddon was recently voted "Best New Haunted House" by USA's Best Haunted Houses and it is not hard to see why.  Scream-A-Geddon is like no other event I have ever been to.  They boast five unique attractions, including:

·         Cursed Hayride – Climb aboard for a ride you will never forget!  You will encounter the doomed souls who want nothing more than to have your soul!  This is one of my favorite attractions because of all the special effects including fire and finding yourself in the middle of a Western type shootout.  Whatever you do, don’t take the baby!

·         Clowns are around every corner in Bedlam 3D.  This attraction literally stands out with its loud noises, bright colors and dizzying mazes.  Put your 3D glasses on and the walls and floors seem to reach out to you, but be careful of what else is reaching out to you!

·         Are you ready to brave the woods?  In Dead Woods, you are given a single light to find your way through a dark trail in the forest.  Just don't run into the chainsaw-wielding lunatic!

·       Infected is built around the story line of a laboratory experiment gone wrong.
Make your way through fields, a farmhouse and a bus without being contaminated yourself!

·         Pandemic – the only interactive attraction that lets you chose exactly how much you want to participate.  "Mark" yourself by wearing a neon necklace and you set yourself up for being grabbed, touched and taken from your group.  This is not for the faint of heart!

Here are my top 5 tips to survive Scream-A-Geddon:

1.      Make sure you go in a group!  And you preferably should be in the middle of the group...you certainly don’t want to be first, but you don’t want things sneaking up behind you either!

2.   Ideally your group should consist of some big strong guys who you can hide behind.   If you don’t have big strong guys in your group, MAKE SOME FRIENDS!!  And, most importantly, DON’T LOSE YOUR FRIENDS!!

3.       If you hear the chainsaws start up, RUN!!

4.       Put on the necklace for the Pandemic attraction…once you are out all safe and sound, you will be glad you did!

5.       This is an event that you do NOT want to miss!  Get your tickets now before it is too late!

I have been to a number of local scare attractions and Scream-A-Geddon was hands down the best. I loved the setting being in the woods, the sets were amazing and the costumes and characters were realistic (a little TOO realistic sometimes!)   I am looking forward to making this a traditional fun night out for my husband and I and our friends every October.  You should do the same!
